The Bus Ride

The Tenth Doctor, After Returning to Earth from the planet Midnight

indigo ink sky fades upward to black;
pin-prick stars wink as brothers
to Midnight’s diamond studded surface

the Sapphire Waterfall babbles blue
a hundred thousand feet
down a cliff’s jagged cheek

outside, such terrible beauty
blooms in X-tonic radiation’s
endless twilight glowing blue-white –
such terrible beauty that will
fry you into nothingness –

while inside a tour bus
I fight: an icy fist grip
closes around my brain

creeps into your head
and whispers

words through the deadly Sky
I peer into her, blue-eyed Sky
the passenger now filled with
the planet’s dark living shadow
moving silent all these years

excuse me, but
                        can I be
                                      you for a while?

it marionettes
my vocal chord strings
for new music lyrics not my own

and the crowding humans
watch listen piling fear-high
in the back of the bus

the
starlight
         waits
we must not
             look!
at goblin men
   allons-y      the
emptiness
       get him
out!

until the hostess
closes her arms around
the skin-wrapped shadow woman
and jumps off the bus, pulling them
both into the acid blue midnight and

I am glass beads, spilled across
the floor from a rattled cup
my own voice finally gushes out of
my inkwell throat
the colour of midnight

it’s gone, it’s gone, it’s gone

humans: deadlier than shadows
and the bravest one there?
I never knew her name
it evaporated outside
in acid blue Midnight

(( "my own voice finally gushes out of
my inkwell throat
the colour of midnight"

I have read and reread that snippet like four or five times and I am just stunned. The whole poem is good but damn, dude, that imagery tho! ))
