((Is anyone else missing notifications?

I wonder if it might be a good idea for us to post an update to the group whenever we catch up on multiple threads.  Such as "Replied to (list of threads with links)."  Would also make it easier for readers who may be interested in following particular threads to stay updated.

What do you guys think?))

I reset my notification options and I seem to be getting comments on things I post and replies to my comments, but that's all I've had come through so far.

((I think, honestly, that the issue was stemming from the fact that I moved a bunch of threads over here from Tumblr and then replied to them because it was my turn-- essentially replying to my own posts, which wouldn't as a default notify anyone. LJ sends notifications when people respond to your entries and to your comments, and it does have a section in the account settings (under privacy) where you can set it to ping you when someone posts something with your user id. Beyond that, though... I dunno... Maybe the pingbacks just don't work on mobile.))

As far as new posts go, I can't speak for everyone but I do check my friends feed pretty regularly so if a post is made for me, I should see it.
If a day or two goes by and I haven't replied and you don't think I know about it, just PM me, I guess. It could happen that I miss things, especially with multiple accounts going.
Though I did just go and turn pingbacks on for this account so I guess I'd have to see how/if that works.

But as far as replying to threads within posts, if you reply to the comment rather than the post, the person will get a notification.
If someone is replying to your thread in a post they made with a whole new comment, you're not going to get a notification because they're not directly replying to you.
So unless you remember how many comments the post had it might go unnoticed that there was even a reply unless it's made directly to the comment rather than the post.
Does that make sense? It's early and my brain isn't awake yet.

Sometimes LJ has issues with that (like any site) but since I've been writing here again it's been pretty good about both email notifs and notifs on the sidebar of the friends feed.

It does make sense, and I think once we get into the swing of things here all the kinks will be more or less ironed out. For the most part, anyway. Like you said, any platform will have its have issues, but there are usually ways to work around them. :)
